Botox vs Jeuveau
You all know I love my Botox. I started getting baby Botox roughly two years ago and have since routinely continued to get it. About a year ago, Shonn, my injector, asked me if I had ever considered Jeuveau and I said no, because I’d never heard of it. At my next appointment 4 months later, she asked me about it again and explained to me that it worked like Botox but was basically the new kid on the block. It had the same effects but generally kicks in faster- Botox takes 2 weeks and she said Jeauveau took under a week. I was very much in the mindset of “if it’s not broke don’t fix it” so I again, I went with Botox. The time after that, I had heard from everyone at Bare Med that Jeauveau was amazing and that I should try it, so I took the leap.
I had it injected into my crow’s feet and injection felt/looked the same. The next day when I woke up, I swear to you the wrinkling already started to disappear. I couldn’t believe it and was convinced I was probably imagining it. By day 4, Jeauveau had reached total effect- I was wowed.
So what is Jeuveau? Jeuveau is a neurotoxin, just like Botox. Botox is a brand name of neurotoxin and there are other neurotoxins on the market. It’s kind of like how we call all tissues “Kleenex”, when Kleenex is actually just a brand of tissues. We think ‘Botox” is all neurotoxins, but it’s just a brand.
Like I said before- why do something new when Botox works well? For me, Jeuveau kicked in in less the time that Botox kicks in. Not a big deal if you aren’t on a time crunch, but it’s nice if you have an event or if you’re just generally impatient like I am! This is my first time getting Jeaveau and I’m interested to see how long it lasts! Generally I go 4 months with Botox, so I’ll keep you posted on the comparison of longevity.
Lastly, the pricing! Generally, Jeuveau is a few dollars less per unit than Botox and this is true at Bare Med Spa as well. Additionally, you get a $40 coupon your first time!
Essentially, what it will come down to for me is which one lasts longer, and only time will tell. Shonn said she has seen mixed results and ultimately it varies per person- some metabolize Botox faster while some metabolize Jeuveau faster. If Botox is a little out of your price range, Jeuveau might be a great option for you! If you’re a Botox user and lover, try it! Your body might hold on to it longer and you might be able to go longer in between appointments!

As always, I recommend Shonn at Bare Med Spa!
